Netherhall School Library

 A Positive Thinking Area

Librarian:  Mrs P Anderson

The library is a welcoming place with an energetic buzz about it!!

The library is open each day from 8.30am until 3.30pm.

During lesson times there are timetabled sessions for quiet reading and classes often visit for specific research projects.  The library is also well used by the 6th form students who undertake independent study there.

There is opportunity for independent reading and research during break times and lunch times.

Students may use the computers and Internet by logging on with their own passwords.

A wide range of reference materials, fiction and non-fiction books are available.
Mrs. Anderson is always on hand either to sort out minor computer problems or to help find relevant information.

Students are encouraged to borrow books so that they continue to read for pleasure at home.

An induction programme is run at the start of Year 7 to help students become aware of how the library works and to give them fundamental training in the

information skills required throughout school life and beyond.  The use of the library helps to develop these skills as they progress through school.

We hold a book fair annually in December to which all pupils get the opportunity to visit.

Always a popular attraction when ex-pupils come back into school for any reason are the newspaper articles that we have been collecting and collating from local newspapers over the years.  The cuttings are of important events in the history of the school or its pupils both past or present.
